Rev It Up Interview Series #4 - Xtreme Gaming

The Rev It Up Interview Series #4 is officially up and I had a chance to interview Arthur Tolmie, who runs a Xbox 360 gaming centre called Xtreme Gaming which it is located in Colchester Essex. He's been running the gaming centre for 5 Years and he often holds gaming sessions and events at his gaming centre for games like Call Of Duty Black Ops 2, Fifa and more. Even more, he does a weekly cast show where he invites people to be on the show and he talks about new stuffs that happened in the gaming community.

RIUP - Tell me a bit about yourself

Arthur Tolmie - nbsp;34 years old gaming all my life, massive Sci Fi nerd and Star Wars fan, big into films and anything XCOM related :P

RIUP - How did you get into gaming?

Arthur Tolmie -  Started at a young age, earliest memory is playing Jail break on the Amstrad 6128 but had previous consoles / computer prior to that (who’s names escape me) For me gaming was such a new and exciting medium and still is to this day. It allows people to realise their wildest imaginations and then share them with the world, I think this was what attracted me in the first instance and has had me hooked ever since.

RIUP - what game are you currently playing at the moment and are you enjoying it?

Arthur Tolmie -  Currently playing Tomb Raider and enjoying it immensely great blend of action and puzzles and a fantastic reboot of a franchise I had left and not gone back to a long time ago.

RIUP - What games are you really looking forward to this year?

Arthur Tolmie -  Bioshock infinite is absolutely amazing, I had the privilege of playing 3hrs of this game and was utterly blown away by it, also Saints Row 4 because I had a load of fun in Saints 3 and from what I have seen this looks even crazier!

RIUP - are you more of a casual or a competitive gamer?

Arthur Tolmie -  I am more of a casual gamer I enjoy immersing myself in story games like Bioshock or the Mass Effect Effect series, I enjoy competitive gaming but mainly with friends, however I much rather play co-op then anything adversarial.

RIUP - Now You run a Xbox 360 gaming centre in Colchester Essex. Can you tell me how long you have been running the centre and what sort of things happen at your gaming centre?

Arthur Tolmie -  I have been running Xtreme Gaming for 5 years and we are a dedicated XBOX 360 gaming centre and we hold various events and launches from All Night gaming sessions every month to special themed release days. We also work closely with publishers and our last event was the post launch with Activision for the Revolution DLC for Black Ops 2.

RIUP - What is the gaming community like in Colchester?

Arthur Tolmie -  The gaming community in Colchester are passionate and knowledgeable about their subject. They are diverse and friendly and not genre specific and as such we have hardcore fans for both FPS, RPG’s and Strategy games.

RIUP - Do you often have stuffs like events/tournament at your gaming centre?

Arthur Tolmie -  We run competitions regularly and we do so alongside our sponsors so we get to offer some amazing prizes! Our next big completion is with Mad Catz for FIFA in April and will be awesome, but prior to this we will be at iSeries and doing in-house release night competitions.

RIUP - You've just recently made your first episode for your new cast show, "No Fighting In The War Room". What made you want to create a cast that you did?

Arthur Tolmie -  Something we wanted to do and involve our regular members with. XG is all about community and sharing opinions and ideas thoughts and just general experiences, the podcast I hope reflects this and shows that we value our members and followers.

RIUP - Have you thought about what kind of things that you would like to do in your future cast?

Arthur Tolmie -  In The future more of the same really and perhaps involve some community managers get them talking about everything in general and showing a different side to themselves. Also there will be competitions so watch this space ;)

RIUP - any shout outs that you would like to say?

Arthur Tolmie -  Big shouts to our sponsors: Mad Catz, Turtle Beach, Steel Series, ASTRO gaming and Gunnar for supplying us with amazing equipment and prizes for our centre and competitions. But the biggest shout out is and always will be to our community because without their support we would not be able to do what we do!
